Bangle

A type of bracelet that is currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity, bangles today are made from a variety of materials, ranging from plastic to diamond-accented platinum.

The Bangle Difference

What differentiates a "bangle" from the standard bracelet is its look. Bangles are thin bracelets that are often worn in multiples. They come in an endless array of materials. You can find gold bangles, silver bangles, jewel encrusted bangles, and even simple plastic bangles.

Bangles can be slipped on or purchased with a clasp and a hinge. The bracelets opens at the hinge to make them easier to wear. Be sure to take the wrist measurement of your intended gift recipient's hand and wrist prior to buying, or else the bracelet may not fit.

Popular Bangles

One popular bangle style sold is the Hawaiian. These are made of gold or sterling silver and engraved with flowers or bamboo. People often have their name engraved on bangles, too.

One way to make a strong impact is to wear multiple bangles together. Many bangles come in very thin materials that encourage this. The overall effect is almost like wearing a thicker cuff bracelet, but with more delicate materials and movement.

Prices of bracelets range from under $10 for a plastic bracelet to thousands for a platinum, perhaps embellished with diamonds.
